Open Enrollment Season: Help Employees Learn About Commuter Benefits

by Anthony Ahn

It’s officially autumn, and the change of the season brings warm colors, cozy clothes, and “pumpkin spice” everything. It also brings the opportunity for companies to kick off their open enrollment, allowing employees to choose or update their workplace benefits.

Open_Enrollment.pngFor calendar year benefit plans starting January 1, open enrollment often takes place in November. Now is the perfect time to remind employees of their pre-tax or subsidized commuter benefits they can take advantage of.

Here are some tips to increase your enrollment numbers for commuter benefits. Did you know companies that have increased their enrollment participation by 25% are eligible to apply for a goDCgo Employer Ambassador Award Program? Contact the goDCgo team to learn more.

  1. Host a Benefits Fair – Invite the Employer Services team to your fall benefits fair. Our team will provide custom commute advice and show employees how pre-tax commuter benefits can save them up to $1,000 per year.
  2.  Host a goDCgo Commuter Benefits Presentation – Some employees may not be aware of all the benefits available to them. Contact the goDCgo Employer Services team to receive a complimentary presentation for your staff.
  3. Get Creative with Communications – Share our eye-catching transit benefits infographic poster, which can be customized to include details about your program in order to boost participation (available in Infographic_image.pngEnglish and Spanish). Be sure to check out our other complimentary resources and templates for employers.
  4.  Distribute a Commute Survey – The best way to achieve your health and wellness goals for the year is to gather data from your employees and craft your strategies around what matters to them. Contact the goDCgo team to administer a customized commute survey and see the types of commuter benefits they want.
