goDCgo, Literally!

by Korrea Johnston

Since launching in 2010, goDCgo has continued to have a major influence on DC commuters choosing to travel sustainably. goDCgo is an initiative of the District Department of Transportation and the leading resource for sustainable transportation information and options in Washington, DC. We work with DC employers and residential and hospitality industries to provide complimentary consulting services to encourage and support the use of active transportation and public transit. Our goal serves to decrease traffic congestion, improve air quality, and create a better quality of life in the DC area for commuters, residents, and visitors.

As a result of our efforts, and your decision to shift to sustainable transportation options, goDCgo has hit some major milestones between July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019!

goDCgo has helped….

  • More than 41,000 people choose sustainable transportation options when commuting to work;
  • Keep 45,000 cars off the road each day;
  • Save 733,000 car miles each day;
  • Reduce 563,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air each day; and
  • Save 36,000 gallons of gas each day.

So, what do these numbers mean? They are affirmations that DC is making progress in becoming a more sustainable city. With fewer cars on the road, we get cleaner air, safer streets, and more time to spend doing the things we love to do rather than sitting in traffic.

Are you ready to join the other 41,000 people who “Commute Smarter, Not Harder” everyday? goDCgo is happy to lead you in the right direction! Contact us today at info@goDCgo.com or give us a call at 202-299-2186.
