Get Rewarded by Going Car-Free

by Korrea Johnston

Attention DC employers! goDCgo invites you and your employees to drop your car keys for a day and leave the car behind on September 22 as Washington, DC will celebrate Car Free Day.

Every year on September 22, thousands of people around the world opt in to use a more sustainable transportation option instead of driving alone like riding trains, buses, bicycles, carpooling, or good old-fashioned walking. For those that have the ability to work from home, telework also counts!

Car Free Day is the perfect opportunity for commuters like you and your employees, to try a non-driving mode of transportation. You could start an office carpool sign-up, share information about biking to work with your employees, or go the extra mile and organize a group bike ride! Whatever you choose, you’ll be surprised at the multitude of transit options the District has to offer and how easily a car-lite or car-free lifestyle can be achieved.

In honor of this transit-friendly event, goDCgo Employer Services is offering complimentary consultations to Car Free Day participating organizations! Get all of your transit questions answered and help your employees learn about their commute options by engaging in a free, one-on-one meeting with a goDCgo Employer Services representative.

To take advantage of this offer, simply fill out the Car Free Day pledge form, reserve a date and time for your company’s consultation by emailing us at info@godcgo.com, and then go car free on Thursday, September 22. Anyone can participate — it’s that easy!

Take the Pledge

Let’s join forces to create a day with less traffic congestion and promote a greener, more livable and sustainable Washington, DC.
