Cherry Blossom poster for 2013Everyone loves a parade!  Welcome spring with one of Washington’s most popular traditions − the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® on Saturday, April 13, from 10am – 12:00 pm, rain or shine, along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets, NW.  Lavish floats, giant helium balloons, marching bands, and performers will be walking the avenue in a spectacle of music and showmanship.  Standing along the Parade route from Constitution Avenue between 9th and 15th streets, NW is free and open to the public.  Arrive early for the best views.  For reserved seating or applications to participate, please visit the Parade website.

METRO

The Metrorail and Metrobus are both excellent ways to get around the District and the entire DC area. Metro has a number of stops near the parade route or within a few blocks walk:  Farragut West (17th Street Exit), McPherson Square, Federal Triangle and Smithsonian are all on the Blue and Orange Lines.  Archives-Navy Memorial Metro is on the Green and Yellow Lines.


Buses running nearby are: 7Y, 13F, 13G, 34, 37, 63, 64, 70, 79, A42, A46, A48, N3, P6, S2, S4, V8 and X1. Visit www.wmata.com to plan your trip and to confirm bus schedules that day.

At just $1 a trip, it’s hard to beat this easy way to get around town. The Georgetown-Union Station route has many stops within a 10 minute walk of the parade route.   The Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Metro also has stops in downtown near the parade route.  Visit www.dccirculator.com for information on schedules and routes.

With over 1,675+ bikes at over 180+ stations in the District, Arlington County and Alexandria, Virginia, this on-demand mode of transportation is sure to get you on your way.
