The first-ever National Bike to School Day will take place on May 9\, 2012\, as part of National Bike Month. This event is to encourage children to safely bicycle to school.Many communities and schools have been holding spring walk and bicycle to school events for years. National Bike to School Day provides an opportunity for schools across the country to join together to celebrate and to build off of the energy of National Bike Month.
This year\, Bike to School Day event registration will open in early April.Communities\, schools and organizations will be able to register events and individuals will be able to register as resources for others planning events in their states.  To celebrate this inaugural event - everyone who registers an event or as a resource will be entered into a contest to win a bike rack for their school.  Contest rules and more details coming soon so please visit Bike to School.
