DESCRIPTION:Springtime in Washington can only mean one thing:Cherry Blossoms.Come and celebrate spring and the enduring friendship between the United States and Japan.The trees were a gift from Tokyo in 1912 and this year will mark the 100 year anniversary of this gift with a multitude of events.The festivities will kick off with the Opening Ceremony on March 25\, 4 pm to 6:30 pm\, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.The Opening Ceremony is a free and public event but tickets will be required for entry. Tickets will be available through the website beginning February 1\, 2012 and will be fulfilled on a first-asked\, first-served basis via an on-line reservation system available from the official website.For more information on the festival and to request tickets\, please visit Cherry Blossoms.
